Mater Pathology has expanded its scope of services and now offers workplace, medical and pre-employment urinary drugs of abuse testing under AS/NZS 4308:2008 (NATA accreditation number 2623).

By providing accurate results with rapid turn-around times, the Mater Pathology Drugs of Abuse Laboratory delivers the results you need—when you need them.

On 1 August 2011 Mater Pathology began testing for Synthetic Cannabinoid Metabolites (e.g. Kronic, Spice, K2) using a LC-MS/MS assay developed by one of our senior scientists.

Mater Pathology Drugs of Abuse Laboratory offers:

  • Urine drug screening (Turn-around time one working day).
  • LC-MS/MS confirmatory analysis (Turn-around time two to three working days).
  • Synthetic Cannabinoid Metabolites testing (Turn-around time three to four working days).

Collectors at Mater Pathology Licenced Collection Centres collect urine drug testing samples according to chain of custody procedures, making the results suitable for court purposes. Mater Pathology has collection centres  located throughout the Brisbane metropolitan area.

The Mater Pathology Drugs of Abuse Laboratory operates Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm. Turn-around times are from receipt into the laboratory and exclude weekends and public holidays.
