Mater Pathology has expanded its collection centre network with the addition of two centres located at Logan Central and a centre at Hope Island, along with a relocation of its Springwood centre from Fitzgerald Avenue to Murrajong Road.
Mater Pathology now has 27 collection centres throughout Brisbane and is dedicated to providing local communities with access to qualified phlebotomists experienced in the collection of adult, maternity, paediatric and neonatal tests.

Mater Pathology has taken over the management of Northside Pathology and will provide a pathology laboratory testing and collection service for northside patients.
In addition to a hospital service at Holy Spirit Northside private hospital, the five pathology collection centres currently located at Deagon, Eatons Hill, Kallangur, Kedron and Keperra will be operated by Mater Pathology.

Mater Pathology’s Microbiology division is now performing respiratory virus polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and Bordetella pertussis PCR onsite using the Qiagen Rotor-gene® Q.
The availability of these new tests will reduce turnaround times for results and provide referring doctors with a responsive and efficient testing service during Influenza season.

The team at Mater Pathology has recently expanded with the addition of
two new district supervisors joining its team. This will significantly improve
the level of support GPs receive in the nursing homes they visit.

Mater Pathology has introduced changes to the operating hours of its collection centre network.
Some of these changes include the introduction of brief closures over the lunch period. Mater Pathology has aligned these closures with the quietest part of the day for each centre, to minimise the impact on our patients and the medical community.
